As a big fan of outdoor activities I think that the UK is one of the best places in the world to live. There is such a big variety to this country that I can carry out all my favourite sports and hobbies without ever travelling too far from home.
The Lake District is one of my top destinations in the UK and I have done some amazing walks there. In fact, my first ever proper hike took me along a path that gave me stunning views of Ullswater. Ever since then I have been hooked on hiking and my last trip there was a cracking walk in the Coniston Fells which left me happy and exhausted. However, my favourite Lake District walk was the one where I ended up meeting a bunch of other hikers at Pillar Rock and having a great chat as we covered one of the toughest parts of the whole region.
Life isn’t just about hiking though. I also enjoy running, biking, climbing, kayaking, snowboarding and lots of other exciting sports. I tend to go running near my home, as there is a brilliant big park where I can forget about my worries as I run through the forest and listen to the birds sing.
Biking is something I like to travel a bit further to do and there are some great destinations in the UK. I recently discovered Coed Llandegla in Wales and got blown away by how cool it was. It was incredibly tough in some sections as well, so I will definitely be going back soon. For the moment Glentress in Scotland is my favourite biking destination but I am keen to check out a few more centres I have heard great things about.
While most of my adventures have taken place in the UK so far I am also keen to explore the world. In fact, my biggest ambition is to climb Mount Kilimanjaro and I plan to do it next year.
