The Beaches of Anglesey

Wales has a treasure that everybody should go for and it’s none other than the wonderful beaches in the Isle of Anglesey. This is not just a place for tourists but also a residence to some island lovers in the country. There are many perks of living in a place like this and one has to be the luxury of going to the beach anytime you want!

You don’t have to worry about wearing shoes each time you go out because here, you can totally be comfortable wearing your flip-flops as you hit the shore! The beaches here vary in so many ways. You’ll find a lot of character in this place. Some beaches are rocky with massive sands while others even have a forest that you can run to after taking a dip. You will also find beaches that are oozing with such romantic atmosphere that you would want to play some slow jazz music while walking on the sand.

The beaches of Anglesey are far from the ordinary ones because they are award winning.  These beaches have met 32 separate benchmarks, which include the quality of their water, the cleanliness of the place due to their litter management, dog, control and even ethics when it comes to the environment. Too bad their exquisite rockpools and awesome sandcastles aren’t part of the category because they are sure to win that with flying colors as well!

You may think that we’re not really into our beaches unlike other countries that are known for their shores especially those on the tropical ones. But I can assure that we take our beaches seriously that this country is spending almost £6 million just to take care of its creation and maintenance. This budget includes the many trained lifeguards manning the shore with their binoculars and jet-skis to get into the place of action. We also take care on the improvement of our coastal fences for our beach areas to be safe and a haven for swimmers, marines, canoeists and even kite surfers.

Going back to the awards of our majestic beaches, we are proud to share you that back in 2004, 6 of them bagged the prestigious European Blue Flag and they are the following:

1.      Benllech

2.      Trearddur Bay

3.      Porthdafarch

4.      Llanddona

5.      Silver Bay

6.      Llanddwyn

What is great about Anglesey are the many beaches to choose from on the type of activity that you’re into. There are beaches perfect for swimming and those best for canoeing and jet skiing. And if you’re one of those who wants to enjoy long walks by the seashore hand in hand with your special someone, you are sure to find that as well.

The beaches here could sometimes experience such extreme temperature and even have the sunshine so bright so make sure that you and your family are ready for it. When it’s hot out there, it’s best to keep your kids inside cottages or put some sunscreen to protect your skin from burning up. You wouldn’t want to leave out of this town hurting so bad because of the sun.

Always be ready with lots of water to avoid dehydration during these hot days especially during summer. And in case you experience symptoms of exhaustion from the heat of the sun such as nausea, fever and painful cramps; immediately seek medical attention.

Moreover, allow me to give you a quick review on 2 of the beaches that I think you should check out as I consider them to be the best.

1. Rhosneigr Beach

Sandy and definitely perfect for those who love watersports and also if you want to own a retirement home, the best spot is sitting right here.

2. Benllech Beach

It’s very windy out here and it will surely calm your stressed nerves when you get to soak your feet on its soft sand. It’s best for family outing with their rock pools and coastal path that will make you appreciate its wonderful sea view.

The beach is the perfect place to spend your vacation especially if you want to escape the hustle and the bustle of the city life. So take your time off to enjoy the cool ocean breeze of the beaches of Angelsey.
