Delamere Forest
Gone are the days when the forest used to be the scariest place in every bedtime story that you heard from grandma. You know the whole Little Red Riding Hood and the big bad wolf type of stories, people are not that scared anymore to hang out with giant oaks and green fields. In fact, the forest has even been the haven of some romantic stories nowadays which I’m sure you can relate when I mention the names of Edward Cullen and Jacob Black. Okay, enough of that because I’m not really here to talk about some Vampire stories.
I’m here to share with you this wonderful forest where you can definitely have a nice trip with the family without the image of darkness and the soundtrack of the wolves’ cry. Being here is actually pleasant and sunny and refreshing. Think yellow, white and green. Those are the colors that best describe the Delamere Forest.
This forest is by far the most massive area of woodland that you can see in the Cheshire area and it’s definitely perfect for a family outing just so you can bond with them tightly without the chaotic noise of the city. I mean seriously, I don’t think you could ever ask your kid how is school without being followed by the honking of the cars if you decided to walk on a city park. This place is the best!
If you love birds, then this is also a perfect spot because you can do all the bird watching that you want for you’ll see different species of birds flying nearby. And not just birds, animal lovers will surely appreciate the presence of other animals like the green woodpecker, the tortoiseshell butterfly and the southern hawker dragonfly just to name a few.
This forest is ideal for activities like walking and running. If you’re a huge fan of having long walks without being overwhelmed by the vastness of the ocean view (isn’t that the stereotype?), the calming flowers, plants and trees will certainly work as you walk to and fro with the amazing breeze of the wind. Take your family out and include your dog with you. Your pets will certainly love this kind of outdoors.
You won’t just see trees and more trees here, but you’ll also get to see other views like cathedrals and buildings in this skyline that Liverpool is known for. That should be breathtaking! And since there are trails perfect for walking and running, this forest is also great if you’re training for some athletic event. Burn all the things you need to burn in your body without stressing much because of the fresh wind that you are breathing in.
This forest is also perfect for cycling! Its got this smooth sandy service that makes it ideal for biking which makes it safe for you as well. You don’t need to worry much about the security of the place but it’s best to still wear those protective gears. If you don’t have a bike, don’t worry because there are available bikes here that you could rent!
Now if you want to take your cycling to the next level, I suggest that you participate on these forest Seasonal Rides. Joining this will help you learn more about the environment more than just riding a bike. There are other programs involved such as their HealthCycle. This is programmed for those who would like to improve their cycling skills as they gain confidence during those sessions.
And there’s another one suited for the family and it’s called the Let’s Cycle Family Fun Day. This is usually held when school is out so even the kids could enjoy this bond with their folks. It’s going to be a lot of fun and that I really can guarantee you!
Before I end this article, I’m going to give you a tip to not miss the Old Pale for your cycling round because this is where you will find the epic view of the countryside of Cheshire. Its cinematic ambiance of summer and spring is just priceless.
So if you’re still stuck on that whole “there’s a big bad wolf in the forest” ideology then I challenge you to snap out of it and dare experience the beautiful life out there, where the grass is green and the trees are so tall, almost reaching the heavens
