Coasteering in Wales

Coasteering in Wales

Planning to break out from the usual adventure or outdoor activity? Well here is definitely something that will take your breath away and it’s called Coasteering. If you love to climb, to walk and even to swim, then this activity has got it all for you. Pack your adrenaline and be prepared to have that rush that will not put you to sleep. It’s going to be exciting!

Coasteering involves going on a rocky coastline using only your feet (forget about biking and other transportation). A combination of swimming and hiking are part of it as well. Now it may sound easy but it’s actually very challenging and somewhat competitive.

Climbing is usually the first part of this task so you’d better be ready with your complete climbing gear and especially those climbing shoes. But it’s not going to be just climbing because oftentimes you will have to do some scrambling (climbing Rocky Mountains but in this case- rocky coastlines, some canyoning (exploring the deep ravine of the area), and sea level traversing. Just remember that this is the type of climbing that you shouldn’t expect to stay dry after.

Swimming is indeed part of this trip but it’s not an ordinary one. It’s actually called adventure swimming. While coasteering, it’s a must that you are ready with your wetsuits even while you are still on a dry area because you will never know when it is time to hit the cold waters. This activity is never going to be complete if you will remain dry the entire time. Trust me, it wouldn’t be called coasteering if you will not get to dive into the deep blue sea.

Now to be able to swim, you have got to jump from the cliff of the coastline! This is actually the most exciting part where your adrenaline will start rushing. This is the perfect time to break free and let loose!

Safety Tip: When jumping from the top of the ravine or the top of the coastline, don’t jump with your head first, rather make sure that you jump as if standing in complete balance. As long as you keep your head high, you’re safe.

The best place to conduct this activity is in Wales because of the many coastlines available for you to explore. It’s guaranteed to get your blood flowing because of the excitement that awaits you. There are many companies in the United Kingdom that will help you with the coasteering trip. It’s best to go with a lot of your friends so you are motivated to enjoy the rush.

The pricing is usually depending on the number of participants and if it’s going to be a half-day or a full day coasteering plan. Some companies could offer you £25 per person on a half-day plan and £40 per person if you plan to do it full day. This is pricing is usually for 16 participants or less. In case you are more than 16 in your group, the pricing could go for £40 per person (half-day) and £60 per person (whole day).

So enough about dreaming on the sound of the waves and jumping from a coastline and just make it happen! Coasteering in Wales will definitely be one of the most memorable happenings in your lifetime that shouldn’t get pass especially spending time with your buddies! Take the plunge and coast away!
