Last weekend the bad weather caused me to cancel a hiking trip I had really been looking forward to.
I hate it when this kind of thing happens but I always have a few ideas up my sleeve for getting by in a weekend in which I can’t get out and about.
Do Some Research
As I travel most weekends I don’t have a lot of time to do research on my future destinations. This means that when I am stuck indoors I often switch on the PC and find out a bit more about places I am going to. A part of me prefers to arrive at new destinations without knowing anything at all about them but I know that being mature and responsible is probably a better idea.
Play Some Bingo
I have been a huge fan of bingo ever since my parents bought me a toy bingo game when I was as a kid. Playing it online is brilliant fun when it is raining outside and I even won some cash at partybingo.com last weekend. It wasn’t much money but it was still a great feeling.
Paint the Bedroom
I have been trying to paint my bedroom for about a year now. Sometimes I get a little bit done but then someone knocks the door or the weather improves and I go out. I’ll finish it someday I’m sure.
Watch a Film
I probably only watch about 3 movies a year but whenever I see one I really enjoy it. I love getting in some popcorn and nachos and snuggling down on the sofa to watch some karate action or a soppy romantic comedy.
Read a Travel Book
Travel books are my favourite type of book and I always have one or two on the go at any one time. I don’t have much time for reading them so one can take me up to a month to finish. However, when I am stuck indoors all weekend I can whizz through a Bill Bryson or a Peter McCarthy in no time.
